| Kodokan
Martial Arts incorporates individual clubs for Karate
Training (art of the empty hand) as well as Okinawan
Weapons Training (Kobudo) and is based in Darlington
UK. The styles of karate are: |

are taught by highly experienced instructors (see the instructors
page). Within each system the students learn their
art which provides self defence skills and mind set. |
The
Kobudo (now has own web site click
here), weapons school, is
based upon Matayoshi Ryu and has twelve traditional weapons in
the system to study. These include Bo, Nunchaku, Sai, Tonfa,
Kama, Iyeku, Kuwa, Tinbei, Tekko, Shuchu, Surichin and Nuntei.
In addition Hanbo and Bokken are also studied and part of the
weapons that accompany the system.

| Within
Kodokan Martial Arts there is a school for which will accommodate
students of all ages, from 5 to Senior Citizens. A new student
can choose to train in just one of the two styles of Karate,
or Kobudo, or both depending upon their preference and time.
Kodokan Martial Arts has taught students that have been novices
to black belts from other schools that wanted to learn more
than just a martial sport. All the schools are based around
traditional Japanese values, and therefore steeped in etiquette
and philosophy. |
| As
well as the practical aspect of the martial art being taught,
the student learns the theory behind the arts, thus expanding
their mind through martial knowledge. The benefits are vast,
improving physical fitness, giving personal improvement in
character, self-discipline, confidence, motivation, respect
and self-esteem, in addition to learning how to defend yourself
in today's society. |
| Our
instructors are Nationally and Internationally recognised,
have coaching qualifications and have been CRB checked. We
also operate a Child Safe Approved Scheme. The Anshin Ryu
Karate School and Kobudo School are associated to United
Kingdom Martial Arts Federation (UKMAF) and the associated
the Governing Body. The Kamishin Ryu Karate is Associated
to Kamishin Ryu Karate Do UK. |
